Kuwait Ministry of Interior Offers Amnesty for Residency Violators Pre-2020

Kuwait:

In a recent development, the Kuwait Ministry of Interior (MoI) has rolled out a significant initiative aimed at providing expatriate residency violators an opportunity to regularize their status. This move is especially directed towards individuals who found themselves in violation before the year 2020.

The General Departments of Residence Affairs have officially commenced the process of receiving residency violators, following a thorough review by the Residence Affairs Investigation Department. To proceed with the regularization procedures, individuals are required to obtain a no-objection document.

As part of the amnesty program, violators are mandated to pay a prescribed legal fine of 600 dinars for each violation. Once the fine is settled, individuals can proceed to the administration to finalize the renewal of their residency papers and secure the issuance of the new residency permit.

This initiative not only allows expatriates to rectify their residency status but also serves as a means for the Ministry of Interior to streamline and update its records. The amnesty program reflects the government's commitment to providing individuals with an opportunity to adhere to legal requirements and contribute positively to the community.

Expatriates are encouraged to take advantage of this amnesty period, ensuring they comply with the stipulated procedures and fines before the designated deadline. The Ministry of Interior aims to create a smoother and more efficient process for residency regularization while promoting a culture of legal adherence among the expatriate community.
